Tyler Shamy is the very definition of a quadruple threat, singing, songwriting, dancing, and acting. With nine years of performing under his belt, the sixteen year old is already a veteran.

“I knew at a very young age that I wanted to be an entertainer. I saw a Broadway show for the first time when I was four years old. I was astonished by the acting, singing, dancing, sets, costumes, and even the lights. That’s when I knew that I was meant to be a performer. I had that urge to be on stage. I would always ask my parents What’s behind the stage? Where are they going? How did they do that?”

Tyler’s parents encouraged their son to pursue his talents; after all, he inherited them from both sides,
“I started singing first. My dad is a singer, songwriter, and pianist. My mom did musical theatre growing up and my older brother was in the school choir. I was heavily influenced by my family as I was surrounded by music. My dad would sing and play the piano and I used to sing and dance along. I was an actor at heart, too. I did crazy accents or voices and dressed up as different characters to get a laugh out of people. I love acting and singing equally. Both are tied for first place in my book!”

“I have always been very close with my family. I have an older brother named Brandon that I’ve always looked up to. We have two dogs named Cody and Jake. I’m a big dog lover! All of my relatives love music, whether they sing, play an instrument, or strictly listen! Many of them have musical gifts like me, but have not pursued it. Music is in my blood. One of our favorite things to do as a family is go see shows. I was a normal kid growing up-played sports, had various hobbies, etc. But my true passions have always been in the entertainment field. I started out performing in front of family and family friends.. My dad and I also sang at church together once in a while. By first or second grade, I was enrolled in acting/singing summer camps and various classes throughout the year.”

Before long, the teenager found himself with a full-time career,
"I started out with musical theatre-both community and professional. I was about 12 or 13 when I began songwriting. I recorded my first music demo of three songs when I was in eighth grade. At age 13, I was cast in my first on-camera role in a short film. I also did various voiceovers and a commercial around that time. I moved out to Los Angeles in August of 2007, because there are so many more opportunities out here for me. That was a large change for my family and I because we’ve lived in New Jersey all of my life. Before long, I met producer Christian Davis of Sly Doggie Productions and we recorded six of my original songs in the studio. Meeting him has been life altering because he has taught me so much. My music has been on numerous radio stations in over 15 different major markets and I am performing out often. Since I've signed with Cammarata Management, we have plans for an album and tour in the works. I was also featured as a Radio Disney Incubator Artist which was great exposure! I have the honor to be a roster artist on the School Zone Pop! Tour along with some very talented artists. On the acting front, I was recently a guest star on General Hospital, I was the official voice of Kabillion network, and I was also featured in a Guitar Hero commercial! Things are going really well. I am very thankful for all that has been happening in my career lately.”

Songwriting has captured quite a bit of Tyler’s attention lately,
“I am inspired to write a song whenever I have an emotion taking over-happiness or sadness. There are also times when a melody just pops into my head and then I spontaneously write a song, but usually I need some kind of inspiration. I just wrapped up a new song in the studio called "Try Too Hard". It's about staying true to yourself and not giving in to the pressure to conform. It also focuses on being an original individual and having enough independence and confidence to do your own thing rather than following the crowd! I’m about to start recording my album, so I've been writing feverishly to make the best material possible for my first, official album!”

Though, it seems Tyler would be way too busy to be a normal teen, he still makes time to enjoy his youth,
“I enjoy long walks on the beach, ha ha, just kidding! In my spare time, I like hanging out with friends, seeing movies, riding roller coasters, bowling, mini golfing, photography, swimming, and eating.”

Tyler’s goal-oriented mindset hasn’t jaded him. His aspirations are high, but he hasn’t forgotten how to be humble,
“It is not fame or money that I am after; it is just the contentment and fulfillment of making a career out of what I love to do. I see myself continuously and consistently growing with my craft. There is always room for improvement in all that we do. I will never know everything there is to know, but I will always work at being the best performer I can possibly be. The opportunities are limitless and the path is endless.”
