“I have the best family in the world.....no, really I do,” says Gareth Asher. “They raised me with good values, and have always supported me in my dreams. I don't think my mom has missed a show yet. My father played guitar and sang and my mom was a drummer. They would always entertain the holiday parties together when I was young. I remember watching my mom breaking drumsticks like a true rocker would, never missing a beat. My dad was holding down the guitar and vocals, singing songs that still course through my memory today. They were my inspiration, and continue to be.”

Born and raised in Bowdon, Georgia, Gareth found his love for music when he was seven, “I remember standing in front of the television at a very young age, and singing along with the National Anthem before the Super Bowl. That was my bread and butter for a while. I'm sure everyone around me then thought I was such a patriotic little kid.”

“I was a small town boy, who loved baseball. I got kicked off baseball team my senior year of high school for being ‘bad’,” he admits cryptically. “I picked up guitar soon after and began to teach myself how to play. I went to college for two years and started playing gigs in local bars. I realized my happiness didn't come from school, but from the music I made. So, I quit school and moved to Atlanta to pursue it. I have been making friends and music for the last seven years all across the country and loving almost every minute of it.”

Gareth enjoys trying out a variety of musical instruments, but says, “You would only want to hear me on guitar and piano. Maybe a drum beat every now and then. I can play the hell out of the recorder too, thanks to Mrs. Boyd in 7th grade.”

Gareth just returned from doing the Simple Man Cruise hosted by Lynryd Skynryd. “Now that I am back on dry land, I am in the studio recording songs for my third solo record with Clay Cook. Clay has played with John Mayer, Shawn Mullins, The Marshall Tucker Band, and now The Zac Brown Band. He is an amazing producer and friend, and I am excited to be able to share our latest work soon.”

The energetic performer has taken on a quieter pastime off stage, “I have quite the love for the game of golf these days. It requires so many great qualities in order to succeed; qualities that also help you succeed in everyday life - focus, patience, and effort. You must clear the mind of the past and focus on the task at hand. What a challenge!”

“I love to make people feel music the way it touches me, because it feels right. I wake up and go for my guitar in the morning, I stalk any inspiration during the day to create a lyric, and come nighttime, I crave a stage to perform upon. It is my driving force of life. Be the best at being you," he proclaims.
