“We all play a role in this dream we call life, and I just happen to have been destined to be a music man,” says songwriter and Bermuda recording artist, Cole. “I remember singing along to records as early as three, and have always known that I've wanted to be an entertainer.”
The youngest artist ever inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in 2006, Cole explains that his life has been very good so far. “As a kid, I wanted to sing and perform on the stage of the Grand Ole Opry, I dreamed of singing and performing with my musical heroes, I wanted to take my music around the world.” Cole has met each of those childhood goals. “I am humbled by God’s amazing grace, and thank him daily for his many blessings,” he says.
Primarily raised in Michigan, Cole grew up playing his guitar and making music with his younger brother, Adam, on drums. Cole moved to Nashville after high school where he received a call from the Jordanaires summoning him to Las Vegas , “I cut my teeth on Rockabilly music, and early in my career, I had the privilege to share a stage with some of my Rockabilly hero's including Carl Perkins. Though I have steered my music into a more mainstream/commercial market these days, I still carry a torch for the music that had such an impact on my life.”
“Over the years, I have sponged up influences from anywhere and everyone. Today I feel that I have finally fused all of these musical influences into something definitely different, yet familiar at the same time. I have an eclectic range of musical influences that I blend together to form a sound that dwells somewhere in between Nashville and Los Angeles. It's tough to pigeonhole it into just one musical genre... though I best fit in the Country Rock market overall. As a listener, I want to feel that I can connect with an artist through their music and that's what I strive to bring to my audiences.”
Cole recently returned from his sixth tour of Sweden and is presently living in Vegas, focusing, for now, on working closer to home and working on the follow up to his first album, which was simply entitled, ‘Cole.’ “There are have been so many good incidences, as well as my share of bad ones. Overall, I believe that I've had the normal trials and tribulations for someone with my background and lifestyle, though there have been some ‘Mount Everest 's’ to climb along the way. It is life's challenges, though, that I think best shape each and every one of us. That's why I wouldn't change any growing pains I've had to endure to become who I am today. No light is quite as rewarding without also knowing just how dark things can be. I realized long ago that all of us only have one go at walking through this existence, so we might as well make it the very best it can be. All I've ever wanted to be is who I am today.”
