Brent Cobb toddled into stardom with a memorable musical debut, “Back in Sunday school when I was three years old, I got up and stood on the top of the Sunday school desk and sang a Hank Sr. song...There's a tear in my beer...” he says laughing heartily. Brent claims to have started his writing career around the same time, “I could write, but I just couldn’t spell very good!”

Hailing from Ellaville, Georgia, the singer songwriter’s life started with a firm foundation, “My faith, family, & friends keep me strong, grounded, and steady. I have a very loving and close family. I had the best childhood! My parents always told me to enjoy being a kid and not to try to be grown before my time. Being and acting like an adult would come fast enough and you can never get your childhood back! I feel their acceptance of who I am is what has allowed me to be shaped and molded into me. I hope I get many more years to add to that shaping and molding!”

“I have been around music my entire life. My dad has played in a band since he was 13 and my mom said she went into labor with both my sister and me when she was at gigs with my dad!” he says with a grin, “I started a band when I was 12 and have been playing ever since.”

In 2006, Brent’s career got a boost when he got the opportunity to go to L.A. and record ten of his songs, “Shooter Jennings and producer Dave Cobb called me up and told me they liked my demo.. They flew me out and I recorded my album No Place Left To Leave. They are very cool and it was amazing to be around such artistic people! Even if nothing big happened with my music, my life is blessed beyond my wildest imagination.”

His faith plays a huge part in shaping Brent’s life, “Jesus is first in my life and then my family and friends. That doesn't mean to say I am perfect, far from it!”

Tragedy led Brent to a career highlight of a lifetime, “I am honored to say that the Oakridge Boys, (with Jessi Colter on piano,) have recorded one of my songs I wrote, Hold Me Closely. Their album will be released mid March 2009. I wrote the song two days before my Nana passed away in 2005. My Nana was my biggest fan! She came to me in a dream, the afternoon after we laid her to rest, holding a huge white with gold trim book. I asked her what she was reading; she told me it was a songbook. So, literally the Oaks doing one of my songs is a dream come true!”

The humble, country singer, says, “Helping out someone whose needs are more than my own,” keeps him grounded and that his advice to himself and others is simply, “to be honest and be who you were created to be.”
