Throughout high school Alexia sang the National Anthem at school sporting events and performed at local carnivals, talent shows, and competitions. She was a part of both Rhythm and Shoes and D&J’s Dynamite Dance Company where she performed as a dancer for six years, traveling up and down the east coast for Regional and National talent competitions. She holds various titles through Star Power and Show Stoppers. “I can’t describe the feeling I get when I’m on stage. My heart starts beating fast and the adrenaline begins to run through my body. All I want to do is sing to my audience. There is nothing more exciting than bringing joy to someone’s life through song. This is truly why I am passionate about a career in music.”
“This past summer, I opened up with the National Anthem for Maryland’s annual Sunday in the Country Concert for Trace Adkins, Sara Evans, Phil Vassar, Terri Clark, and Mark Wills, after winning a contest hosted by radio station, 93.1 WPOC. Recently, I have performed at local venues including The Altland House, The Harvest Festival, and Towson University’s Secret’s at TU event with my good friend Ron Rogers. Ron is a very talented musician who has been quite an inspiration to me.”
Alexia is not signed as of yet and is exploring all avenues to find her best fit. In 2007 she tried out for American Idol and made it through to Hollywood, “Idol was truly a fascinating experience! Sharing the same intense passion for music with others was an opportunity of a lifetime. American Idol can open doors for artists; my appearance on idol sparked interest in and around my home town. After appearing on idol, local radio stations MIX 106.5 and 98 Rock conducted radio interviews relating to my experience as well as local newspapers. I couldn’t have asked for more. I’ve known since I was a little girl [that] music was my calling. I can only pray my passion and ambition will drive me to my dream.”
