Hi, my name is Debbie. I am first and foremost a wife and mother. I have been blessed with two wonderful daughters, Krystina and Machaela. They are the joy of my life.
I homeschooled both girls and that has kept us close, and me young. My husband patiently (for the most part,) puts up with all the schemes the girls and I get caught up in, the latest of which has consumed our lives for the last year, this magazine.
I have suffered numerous health problems over the years; Michael and the girls have been my lifelines through all my medical fiascos. My body has aged, but I’m not sure my mind has. I usually preferred the company of young people to people my own age.
I live in a house with five animals. I’m not sure how that happened. We started with one surly, but beautiful black and white cat, Flower. Then, the girls decided they needed dogs, and each brought home one cock-a-poo puppy, Chase and Joeigh. Machaela then fell in love with a soon-to-be destroyed black cat, Jamei (I know the spelling is odd, thank you, Machaela.) He was supposedly wild, but adores her, and is the biggest lap kitty ever. Krystina fell in love with a Chihuahua named Peanut, my least favorite breed of dog, who promptly decided to fall in love with me and is now my constant companion. I don’t know what I did without her. When I was a kid, I wanted to be an author and to run an orphanage. I have ended out with a menagerie and a magazine rather than my dreamed-of orphanage and published tomes.
Working on the magazine has been eye-opening, exciting, disappointing and thrilling. I have met some of the sweetest, most amazing, artists. I can only hope we, in some small way, can help shine the spotlight on them in a positive manner to get their music noticed by more and more people. Everyday I am astounded at the talent I hear gracing the pages of Myspace. I am constantly impressed by the genuinely talented people diligently seeking their dreams and sharing their gifts with us all.
