“My name's Glynis Bateson, I'm 19 years old, and I'm kind of a klutz.”
“I live with my best friend, Aly, in a basement, but it is an apartment. I work at a grocery store to make ends meet.”
“I tend to listen to just about all genres of music, and without much thought this was just what I wrote. It all just kind of happened. I didn't really pick my genre; it kind of just picked me.”
“My three best friends, Aly, Keya, and Nanci, are the most important people in the world to me. They keep me completely grounded, but they also completely support me. I even have a tattoo on my right wrist that says Radtastic Four; which would be the name we created for ourselves. I met the three of them on a fan site for Kevin Clark, the drummer from that movie School Of Rock, something like five years ago. I basically owe my life to him”
“Aly and I refer to each other as "Thunder Cat" (Aly) & "Fierce Fox" (myself) a lot of the time. We run down the streets pretending we have walkie-talkies. We actually spent a whole day dressed up in ‘disguise’ running around Victoria, BC. We also spent about twenty-three hours on a bus just to get down to Rhode Island to see Nanci and Keya.”
“I didn't really have any friends in high school. I basically had my three best friends, but none of them lived anywhere near me, so a lot of the time I was on my own. I became really depressive but I got over it eventually; now I'm a really upbeat person. And I try to help people going through the same things I did.”
“I grew up on a really big lot of land with my two older brothers, and my three older cousins, all girls. We just had a lot of fun running around the place and playing with all the dogs.”
“Music is everything. It's something that connects people to others, it's a therapist, it's a background noise, or it's just something to do. Everyone listens to music and we have been for centuries, so there's got to be something good about it doesn't there?”
“My parents split when I was seven, and after I got over it, I really started to like it. They're both happier. Plus, I got to live downtown, as well as in the middle of nowhere.”
“Truthfully, I was a pretty bratty kid. Being the youngest and the only girl, I was spoiled a lot more than my brothers, but luckily I've changed a lot since then. Even my brothers agree...most of the time.”
“I guess it was the summer before I went into grade seven, so I was probably 12. My one friend told me she was recording a CD with her music teacher, and I thought to myself, ‘I have a better voice than her.’ Although this does sound mean it's not like I ever told her this. So, I sang at my camp’s talent show. Then when I came home I looked into taking voice lessons.”
“I took about six years of vocal training, two years of piano, and four years of guitar.”
“I'm actually going into the studio soon and working on five new songs. So I'll hopefully have a new EP out soon.”
“I just want to be happy, so if I could simply live off my music that'd be completely awesome. I’m looking into schools for the fall, but I’m still not completely sure if it’s actually want I want to do; I’m just kind of figuring everything out as I go.”
